Beginning in 1987![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() AllProUSA Multimedia began in 1987 as Bob Hartnett Video Production Company. Our first event was a wedding on March 7, 1987. That same year we shot our first TV ad for Nigros Italian Restaurant. Based on the great reception of our early work, things got off to a very fast start, and within three years we had grown to become ALL PRO VIDEO. At that time we were working with a Pittsburgh entertainment & photography company called "Book a Band.” It was a great experience working with the owners of the company, Ron Richards & Michael Redford. Both gentlemen were incredible photographers and excellent businessmen. Also on staff was the office manager Clare Molinaro. Clare showed me more than anyone how to promote the business through contacts, and referrals. Those contacts we met back in those early days are still sending us business today. DJs in Black Tux & TieAt the time the market for Pittsburgh DJ services was dynamic and we did a considerable amount nightclub DJ work at some great area clubs, including The Holiday House "Backstage," "Top Charlie" in Monroeville, and "Memories" on McKnight Road. It was fun to see how Music Videos came of age during that period. Owner Bob Hartnett was quick to realize what a great captive audience we had for advertising and marketing on all of those giant screens in the nightclubs. The Disc Jockey department of the company became "ALL PRO DJs." We had ten of the best, most experienced DJs in the Pittsburgh area. We developed a format based on our expertise and customized input from our clients. In those days DJs dressed in tuxedos was something not often seen in Pittsburgh. Black Tux & Tie became our calling card. All of our DJs were formally dressed. We also marketed the fact that our DJs were their not only to entertain with great music, but to keep the evening flowing in an organized efficient manner. Working with the venue staff, photographers and everyone involved: we were not only DJs, but MC's and Wedding Reception Coordinators. The format was a huge success and is basically the same to this day. As the decade came to an end, AllPro was growing, and where the DJ market had been an exciting adventure, our strength in video and multi-media production was taking off. It was time to move on from the nightclub scene as well as Book a Band. Michael and Ron decided to concentrate on photography as individuals and the time was right for AllPro to spread its wings. In 1989 we officially incorporated and became All Pro Video Production Inc. The goal of the company now was to become Pittsburgh's state of the Art Video Production and Entertainment Company. AllPro Wedding Video![]() The Wedding Video department of the company became "All Pro Wedding Video."
In the early nineties things were really beginning to change with technology and
our goal was to be Pittsburgh’s best state- of-the-art Wedding Video Production
Company. One of the keys to our success was becoming a member of a newly formed
professional organization: "WEVA" (Wedding Event Videography Association). WEVA
was formed with the concept of information sharing with other videographers from
all across America and the world. AllPro Corporate Video![]() At the same time the "All Pro Corporate Video" was becoming very popular in the Pittsburgh Media market. We began shooting for VECTORS Pittsburgh. This organization recognized the "Men and Women of the Year" in Pittsburgh in various fields including Government, Medicine, Education, Entertainment, Arts, Religion, Technology, Finance and more. During this time we had the unique opportunity to meet, interview and discuss methods of their success with some of Pittsburgh’s best and brightest including, Mayor Murphy, TV personalities Patrice King Brown, "Chilly Bill Cardille," Radio Personalities, John Cigna & Larry Richert of KDKA, Doctor Freddie Fu and Doctor DiGioia, Federal attorney Mary Beth Buchanan, CEOs Suzanne W. (Suzy) Broadhurst of Eat N Park & Dan Sullivan of FedEx Ground, District Attorney Stephen Zappala, and the guru of documentaries, Rick Sebak. It was during that period we met a legend of finance in Pittsburgh the Chairman of Hefren Tillotson, Bill Tillotson. We, with much input from KDKA's Suzie Barbour, produced a company biographical video that -though over ten years old- is still used for TV ads. (Talk about mileage.) This highly successful company is now run by Mr Tillotson's daughter, Kim Fleming. As the nineties progressed we moved to the "new" format of Digital Media. Wow! The digital revolution has been a dream come true! We now were able to edit and create using advanced computer technology instead of the burdensome editing decks and video controllers of the past. With the new equipment available and our increasing skill sets and training, if it could be imagined, we could make it real. New terms became common for us: Adobe Premiere, Encore, Final Cut Pro. These were now the tools we needed to achieve success beyond our imagination. AllProUSA MultimediaWith the new millennium came new opportunities. The three departments of the company were running smoothly and it was time to bring them all together under one name. Our new identity became "AllProUSA Multimedia," and for the first time we had a new home on the Internet: www.ALLPROUSA.com, where all three of our departments were united under a single banner. ![]() Our new marketing program had succeeding in getting the name recognition we desired and we quickly became the "preferred vendor" for multimedia (including corporate media production, wedding video and DJs) at many of the largest and most popular venues in the Pittsburgh region. Some of the venues that use AllProUSA Multimedia as a preferred vendor include:
Our professional relationship, association and reputation with these finest of venues has provided us with the all important marketing edge that is crucial in this competitive field. Our Most Prestigious EventsWe have often been asked, "what was the most important event Allpro ever covered?" Well, we recognize that EVERY event we cover is the most important event for our client and we always go over and above to treat it that way. Nevertheless, a few stand out. From Kenny Rogers to Phil MickelsonAccording to AllProUSA Multimedia owner Bob Hartnett: “I would say the wedding for the owner of 84 Lumber, Joe Hardy when he married Debbie was incredible. That day we had the key to Nemacolin Woodlands. Anything we wanted we had. The topper was videotaping the 84 Lear Jet landing on the Nemacolin Airport behind the ballroom and having Kenny Rogers disembark, walk into the Ballroom and sing the wedding song "Through the Years" for Debbie and Joe.” The US Open![]() “The absolute tops for us was the documentary we produced for Oakmont Country Club when they hosted the US open in 2007. Meeting and walking the historic Oakmont Course with Phil Mickelson and Padraig Harrington was great. Being able to do it with my son Chris as my assistant was all the better. I would have to say this was the most work I ever put into a project. We began when snow was on the ground as the Oakmont team began to build what became a small city on and around the golf course. From March until the tournament in July we put in over 100 hours with over 40 hours of videotape that was then edited to a 45 minute documentary covering not only the tournament but the work done at Oakmont in preparing for this Super Bowl of Golf Tournaments. We had a great time interviewing members and staff and got to know some great people like Club GM Tom Wallace. Watching him work with his team, the members and the USGA all the while making sure that the guests were happy was amazing.” The Future Keeps Coming![]() ![]() The first time we saw High Definition on a flat screen Plasma or LCD TV, we knew it was time to re-invest in all new cameras and editing equipment and to be the first in Pittsburgh to move to HD. By the beginning of 2008 all of our weddings were being shot using SONY HD cameras and edited to authored DVDs and BLU RAY discs. We had the jump on everyone in the field with this. This time the format change was different. Consumers knew about HD and its importance. From sports on TV to the barrage of Disney "now on BLU RAY” ads, our market was well aware of this cutting edge technology. Our clients loved the new quality. For two years in a row we were voted "Best in Weddings" by the KNOT. The great thing about this award is that it is awarded based on comments from brides regarding who they consider to have provided the best services. As for the future we see great room for growth. We have new some interns that are helping out while working their way through college. The energy of youth is incredible. We are looking into adding new services such as Fusion Photography, a mix a HD Video and Digital Photography. It seems a natural fit for our media company. We may even have a new name soon. We have acquired the domain of Media Kings USA and during the next year will evaluate making the change. Everyone seems to like the sound of it. According to Bob Hartnett: “Personally I love the name "Media Kings." It seems to sum up what we are. With continued hard work and the Grace of God we should be around for a long time.” For more information, please Contact Us today. AllProUSA Multimedia is here for you!
